McAlpine Screened Porch
Designed to match the aesthetics of the home, this screened porch lets the homeowners enjoy the outdoors, while keeping out bugs and bad weather.
Project Description
These homeowners wanted to be able to enjoy their beautiful backyard garden and landscaping even more by adding a screened porch as a shelter from the mid-day heat. We did that with a radiant barrier roof designed to decrease the temperature and a high flow output ceiling fan for maximum air circulation. A stone deck and patio with grill were added matching the front entrance in aesthetics and style. The project was topped off with a custom, screened porch with custom ceiling layout nestled between the master suite entrance door and the kitchen, including a roof contained by the existing windows on the second floor.

Modern Kitchen
Reimagined into a more contemporary, open and functional space.
Project: Kitchen remodel.
This kitchen has an open floor plan with pantry access through opaque sliding glass doors. To meet zoning/planning constraints from the Town of Carrboro, we incorporated a cantilevered structure addition. Other features include a soft/light-colored glass backsplash, stainless steel appliances, light finish cabinets and white quartz countertops. As part of the remodel, a mudroom was added just inside the adjacent garage.

Feins Kitchen
complete kitchen remodel
Project: Kitchen remodel.
We removed and replaced all cabinets, countertops and appliances and created a new floor plan, featuring a new sink and food prep station. A “grand window” was installed, increasing natural light in the kitchen and maximizing the homeowners’ view of the vegetable and rose garden just outside. The scope of the project included a remodel of the laundry room and refinishing the floors on the main level.

Rosen House
Project: Story addition and whole house renovation.
Our relationship with this client began nearly a decade ago with the repair of their roof. Since then, we’ve completed three main projects or phases of renovation for them. The first floor was enhanced with the addition of a sunroom that features radiant floor heating, a fireplace and a sealed crawlspace. The second story includes a flat roof lpe/stainless cable railing at the perimeter of the porch off the master suite. Additional renovation includes a new deck at the back of the house, a covered patio/deck off the kitchen, a new roof, and a kitchen remodel. The kitchen remodel involved removing load-bearing walls, designing and installing a 27-foot structural beam to carry second-story loads and refinishing all hardwood floors.

Custom Deck
Project: 352 square-foot screened porch.
This screened porch is accessed from a ground-level master bedroom suite. It features custom deck board installation and layout, including site-built benches and a built-in grill area. We removed the existing deck and railing and created the new porch without railings, so the homeowners could enjoy an unobstructed view of the golf course their property overlooks. During the process, the homeowners expressed the desire for the new screened porch to not eliminate the natural light they appreciate in their kitchen. We maximized natural light by installing an oversized skylight with an electronic remote-controlled solar shade to offset heat and light from the skylight.
This homeowner is a repeat customer. We previously removed interior kitchen and dining room walls to open their floor plan and to better capture their view of The Governor’s Golf Club. In this phase, we renovated the great room, dining area and kitchen.
